We know that sometimes legal issues can seem to get in the way of family matters. There are these services for fathers with legal problems or questions.

6th Judicial District: Dept. of Correctional Services
Fathers who may be corrections clients can take advantage of substance abuse or anger management classes. Check out the services at  http://www.iowacbc.org/ or call (319) 398-3907.

Kids First Law Center
Welcome to this Cedar Rapids-based service for school-age children who may be part of custody or divorce cases.  Go to  http://www.kidsfirstiowa.org or call them at (319) 365-5437 and ask about their free services to low income children whose voices need to be heard.

Linn County Child Support Recovery
This agency establishes and enforces child support court orders.  Visit them online or call them at 1-888-229-9223 if you or someone you know has child support questions or problems.

Legal Aid
The Iowa State Bar Association provides a service for people in need of an attorney in a civil matter but can’t afford one. Click here to check out the services you may need or call the toll-free number for the regional office nearest you.
